What We Do
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. - Nelson Mandela
There are still many areas in the world lacking the systems and facilities to deliver even the most basic of education. We, as a collective, would like to change that. We want to give children a fighting chance to change their world by giving them access to better education.
In 2013, the biggest typhoon to ever hit land entered Philippine territories and left a huge mess behind it. Roads disappeared, houses crumbled, schools destroyed, millions of people displaced, thousands died. The effects of this massive storm will be felt for decades.
The Good Collective's current goal is to build schools in Philippine-areas devastated by this 2013 super typhoon, Typhoon Haiyan. It's been almost three years but there is still a lot of schools left abandoned. WE, that’s you and I, are taking action to change some of that.
Why It Matters
A basic education in rural and remote areas in developing countries is the key to giving families and communities a brighter future. It empowers a young girl to make better choices in life. Choices like not marrying too early or not getting pregnant in her teens. It makes these girls want to look for a better mate in life. It strengthens young boys to make themselves skillful thus giving them better employment opportunities in the future.
Education is the key to breaking the generational poverty in many of these areas. We have the capacity to give them access to a better education.
Who We Are
We, as a collective, believe that there is tremendous good in the world. And if we band together and work as one toward a common goal, we can achieve significant, impactful things.
We want you to be part of this joyful movement and a participant in this growing community of tender-hearted people.
