BENEFITING: Suicide Prevention and Interdiction Network
As everyone knows we've been running Rangers Supporting Rangers (RangersSupportingRangers.org) for quite some time. This program falls under the Suicide Prevention and Interdiction Network (SPIN.org) which is a federally registered non-profit (501c3). We have been the immediate interdiction force for troubled Veterans.
We have provided instant support through both communication over the internet, texts, emails and in person support. SPIN/RSR has provided boots on the ground in most cases less than 2 hours. We've linked veterans up with Lawyers who could help them through negotiating lawsuits. Providing financial assistance to those who just need some help getting back on track.
We've without question filled a gap that has given relief and success to many of those who are troubled. We have countless testimonials, and messages thanking us and everyone who has supported them through these systems.
In summary this is a review of what we've accomplished:
We've built a network of over 4k volunteers who are willing to intervene for those troubled Veterans. Additionally, we have built a messaging service in which we can directly text and email all volunteers within seconds of a report. Furthermore, we've taken the time to properly verify and coordinate with multiple non-profits and short/long term treatment facilities so we can assure a successful transition.
What will we do with the money?
Provide Financial Assistance to those with verified issues:
-We have provided over $4900 to those in need since January 1st of this year. Issues have ranged from cell phone bills, rent, food, car repairs, etc.
We will continue to maintain the website as well as our text message and email notification system for those when someone is in need.
-Last year the website and text messages cost just shy of $1000 and we expect to see an increase with the expansion.
Continue to help pay for short and long term treatment.
-Thankfully we only needed to spend $1200 in helping those with treatment (lodging, air, actual treatment), and had a majority of the costs covered or offered through great organizations to include but not limited to Gallantfew, with amazing support from Hooah Inc. and OneMapsInc.
Other costs associated and involved with SPIN and RSR have been pretty expensive and it would be great to have your support. All donations will receive a donation letter which can serve as a receipt for IRS purposes.
If you have any questions at all, please email me at John@SPIN.org I can provide our 7 page brochure for you to review and give you a better breakdown of our services.
