A short video on how the Veterans Furniture Center operates

BENEFITING: United For Change
We need your help to continue the work of the Veterans Furniture Center (VFC). The VFC provides, at no charge to the veteran, furniture and other household goods. The veterans we serve, through our work with the Phoenix Veterans Administrations' HUDVASH office, are previously homeless and transitioning to subsidized permanent housing. While many of the homeless veterans are from the Vietnam era, we are seeing an increase of younger veterans on the streets. This problem is not going away. As all of us on the Board of United For Change say "We can't wait until the day we have no more customers", but we don't see that happening soon. Since these veterans are coming off the streets, they usually have nothing but some clothing to their name. The VA only provides the housing, so we provide the 'home'. We ensure these veterans have a bed, something to sit on, a table to eat on and kitchenware from which to eat. We serviced over 400 veterans in 2016 and we look to meet that number this year. We do this using items donated by folks in the Greater Phoenix area. We store these items in our 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse and pickup/deliver the goods with our two used box trucks. (This all cost money). Since we have no revenue stream to pay for this operation, we rely solely on donations, which is where you come in, we need your help! Please see your way clear to donate what you can to provide the bare essentials to these veterans. Any amount will help keep the lights on and the trucks rolling.
