Jen Fife-Adams wrote -Have you ever gone to bed hungry? Or gone a few days having only a box of cereal? We have kids and families at our school that live that reality. Planting Seeds is the group we started at our school in Beaverton, Oregon to help our friends who don't have enough to eat: families who are new to our country and have a language barrier that's hard to surmount because some people don't want them in our country, families who work so many jobs that sometimes there's no overlap at home in order to make sure that everyone gets a good meal, friends who need a leg up and a little help so that there's one less thing to worry about. Our immediate concern is making sure that these friends have food over Spring Break week which is March 27th - 31st. After that, we need money to supply food for the remainder of the school year. If you have a passion for aiding refugees and other local families in need, this is a good fund to contribute to.
