A sad day..
March 30, 2016
It truly breaks my heart to type this, my Aunt Betty passed away last night 3/29/2016. Now more than ever, my family needs your prayers. Unfortunately, See More
On Tuesday March 8, 2016 my family had to face an extremely terrifying ordeal. My Aunt Betty was found unresponsive in her home. EMS arrived and she was taken to the local hospital where it was determined she had a brain aneurysm. She was then airlifted to the bigger regional hospital in a nearby city where it was discovered she had multiple aneurysms. She underwent a very long, extensive surgery to attempt to remove the aneurysms but the surgeons at that hospital were unable to remove them. They gave my family little hope that she would make it through the night but said if she did, they would airlift her to UNC Chapel Hill, they have an amazing neurosciences department. She is a fighter and she survived and was airlifted to UNC-CH. She was taken in for surgery the next morning. The neurosurgeon was successful at removing 2 of the aneurysms as well as a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage which is very rare and occurred with the larger of the 2 aneurysms they removed. The 3rd aneurysm was so small they were not concerned with it at this time and once she recovers from the critical state of the surgeries, they will then remove the 3rd. Since March 10th, she has been in a sedated state in order to keep her calm while the swelling in her brain goes down. She is also fighting pneumonia at this time. She is a fighter and with so many people all over the country praying and sending their love her way, she has made it this far. My Uncle has been by her side every day since he got the call of what happened while he was at work in another state. Medical bills add up extremely fast and with my Uncle being out of work, I decided that I wanted to do what I could to help them with the financial stress of this whole situation. So, along with my whole family, we agreed this would be the best way to try to help with the financial stress of it all. My Aunt is one of the strongest women I have ever known. She is loved and needed by so many. She is a mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. If everyone who has said a prayer or liked a status in regards to my Aunt Betty could donate whatever they can, it would help tremendously. Please consider doing what you can, please continue praying, and please share! Thank you all so much!
