BENEFITING: WESTMINSTER NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES INC
Some routine maintenance is annual, and some is only necessary once every 12 years. Well, it's year 12, and its time for maintenance on WNS' Hood Ansul System in the Children and Youth Education Center Kitchen. Keeping kids safe, healthy and engaged during the summer months takes more than just providing food and fun. So many things must fall into place for WNS' programs for students in grades K-8 to provide opportunities for students to grow, learn, stay healthy and have fun. One of the most important elements of these programs is the provision of nutritious meals each day. Children in WNS' children and youth programs live in a community where nearly half of the families are living in poverty. They receive breakfast and lunch at school, and they receive dinner at Westminster during the school year. Many children in our community go without substantial meals at home and often arrive at school or summer programs hungry. It is imperative that WNS has the proper equipment and maintenance to ensure healthy meals are available for these students. In order to provide a safe environment and prepare meals for the 45 children who participate in our programs everyday, we need to update the Hood Ansul System in our kitchen and while we're at it, the Center Fire Extinguishers. You can help ensure that these children continue to have a safe place to learn, play, and grow each day by providing funds to ensure these updates and routine maintenance occur in timely manner!
