Help your neighbor with shelter
Organized by: Tynisha Williams
Hi everyone. My heart is so heavy right now knowing I'm unable to help my sister through her most time of need. It's crazy how people are there for such things as buying an outfit that you notice is on sale when you're out together or sparing you five dollars at the nail palace when you want something extra. But, nobody to turn to when you about to lose your place of living due to the cause of loss of work. I was hoping to fundraise to help my sister keep her place, she is under eviction and has to vacate in 3 days. She's a single parent of 3 Asian 15, Maraca 14, Taylor 8. The Houston housing assistance program have been unable to help and her last option is a shelter. She have been contacting many agencies in the area, but haven't been able to make much progress. One church as gave her a pledge of $200 so far, but of course that's not enough. She also have been applying herself but haven't been able to get any luck with a job opportunity. I just hope and pray by the grace of God someone can hear our hearts crying out for help. I spoke with my sister on last night when she cried for at least an hour complaining about how hard she tries to make things possible for her kids. My sister was diagnosed with depression a few years ago when she stumbled upon hardship and thought about harming herself. I'm so afraid this horrible turmoil may trigger those depression tendencies. I know my sister is a great person and have tried so hard to make a way, but it's hard when you have to pay rent, buy food, clothes, hygiene products and cleaning supplies with a job paying $10. I'm sure that's why she living in a 1 bedroom apartment. But it's a roof they have a bed, running water and stove. So I believe that's what matters most. It breaks my heart to know what these kids up against and not even aware. Hopefully someone may just understand their troubles. In Jesus name, Amen.
