THE STORY:

Northern Michigan Equine Therapy wrote -

"Your child will never walk," stated the many doctors Krystal consulted about her son's super power, Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. A genetic disorder best explained as a car manual missing a few hundred pages. These missing pages affects Zander's ability to walk. But not so fast. You see, Zander was discharged from therapy as nothing worked...nothing. But one therapist suggested a possible option, equine hippotherapy. At Northern Michigan Equine Therapy (NMET), a licensed occupational therapist, a therapy horse "Adelle", volunteers, a special saddle, and Zander's hard work made it happen. Zander walked for the first time after his third session at NMET. Watching Zander walk unassisted for three steps down the aisleway into his mother’s arms as tears rolled down her face is something the NMET team will never forget. It was also his 5th birthday. Today, he is at nearly a dozen steps, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Krystal is getting married in August 2018. Her greatest gift is to see Zander and his older brother walk her down the aisle together. This fundraiser gives Zander 2-3 sessions per week, which the NMET team believes is perfect to make this dream a reality. With your help, Zander and his big brother will walk their mom down the aisle...unassisted.
