Help a Hero was created by me (yay!) in the hopes of helping military members of all branches through the Armed Forces Relief Trust.
My primary purpose/goal for this fundraiser is to raise awareness and help military members get home in the event of an emergent situation while deployed. Whether it be the birth of a child, an unexpected natural disaster or an unfortunate circumstance, military members often have to come out of pocket and have undue stress compounded to get home when the priority should be them being home. Period...NOT how they can pay for it.
I see firsthand (as an Active Duty military member who has been deployed) the effect that just a small bit of positive recognition and appreciation can have on a Sailor, Airman, Soldier or Marine's morale. If you can help in any way, even with just one dollar, it will help.
Help someone who is fighting for your freedom during a time when they, and their family, need it most.

"The mission of the Armed Forces Relief Trust is to assist the military aid societies by providing a single vehicle to accept donations that will benefit the men and women of our Armed Forces and their families. Examples of such assistance may include payment for a soldier's airfare to fly home for his father's funeral, a special reading program for a sailor's daughter, special medical attention for a pilot's expectant spouse, or college tuition for a soldier's child."
"Last year, the four emergency assistance programs disbursed more than $46 million in interest-free loans and grants to 195,000 individuals and families in need. But in order to meet our troops needs today, the Armed Forces Relief Trust is depending on the public's support."
