I don't have the word's to express the pain that comes with this diagnosis. To see A six year old happy full of spirit child feel so ill and have to suffer so much... It is overwhelmingly painful. But I know my friend feels that she has to stay strong - for Aiden. He needs to see our positive thinking and hope. Because, in the midst of such darkness, We continue to feel hope and strength that he will recover. No one wants to see their child suffer and go through such a illness . Since the diagnosis, Aiden has been admitted to Kosairs children hospital in Louisville and is expected to be there at least until June. My friend's cousin found to be a bone marrow match. We are hoping that we can get the help we need. He didn't Get to have christmas with his family and we are just wanting him to recover , the be able to be a kid again. Aiden has begun chemotherapy and the bone marrow transplant is scheduled for Febuary 14. After that, they will continue the chemotherapy, and continue to hope. Of course we will hope it is effective, we will hope he does not get one of many, many types of infections to which he will be susceptible, and we will hope that remission is on the horizon. Since Aidens mother has to be at the hospital every day and night, she had to quit her job the be able to be with her son she is a single mother. Aiden is her only child. living on one income, and the medical bills are already adding up. They need food, clothing, and all the other expenses that come along for Aiden, while continuing to attempt to pay the bills for Aiden's treatments. My friend feels so fortunate enough to be employed within the Jefferson county School system, but living on a single salary does not begin to allow coverage of the incredible amount of costs associated with Aiden's diagnofamily and can't think of any other way she cannot afford upcoming costs that will be needed for Aiden. With more sadness than I can ever express, I wanted to share my friend's story with the louisville community and others, because we need help. She is a hardworking, private and prideful person and letting me share this is incredibly difficult for her... But she is allowing me to do so for her son, because she will do anything for him. Any small contribution helps and I (and my friend's family) am forever thankful for your time and consideration. Please keep Aiden in your prayers and you will be in mine. Thank you .sis, and daily life. She doesnt have much support from
