THE STORY:

Let's send a very warmhearted mother and her deserving children on a vacation this summer. Let me explain. The Moreno Family consists of a single mom, Lisa and her children: Lani, Louis Jr., Luke, Levi and Logan. Her children range in ages 2-18, In February of 2011, the family lost Lisa's husband and the childrens' father, Louis. During that same year they lost 5 more family members including Lisa's younger brother. In September of 2011 after Logan was born, Lisa's daughter Lani, was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer. Lani underwent many surgeries and chemotherapy while she and her mother encouraged other sick children and their families in the hospital (I was a personal witness of this). Although Lani was declared in remission during May 2012, she has had many other medical issues as a result of the chemotherapy. In 2014 Lani began experiencing many of the same symptoms of the cancer she had before. In June, she had another major surgery. The results came back negative for cancer but Lani is still in pain from her surgery and in the middle of an 8 week healing process. The most unique thing about this family is that they never complain. They live in a very small rented condo. Lisa and her children are always encouraging and pouring themselves out to help others, Lisa has stood outside Walmart at Christmas to ask for money for the neighborhood children who needed coats for winter, She often holds crafts in the complex for the neighborhood children at the holidays. She feeds anyone who needs a meal. Her door is always open to help or listen to those in need. If you have it in your heart to help them get away, please support this cause.
