Help Ana show cancer who's boss!
Organized by: Heather Van Diest
EVENT DATE Dec 31, 2015
As most of you already know, our sweet Ana has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is called invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) and she will start treatment the week of September 21st. She will undergo 6 rounds of chemo followed by a double mastectomy. She will then undergo six more rounds of a chemo-type drug, followed by radiation. Finally, she will have to take a special medication called Tamoxifen for 10 years to make sure the cancer stays in remission.
It's going to be a long road and Ana needs our help. Ana will be responsible for $5,000 in out-of-pocket medical costs for 2015 (labs/scans, surgery, chemo, radiation, and other procedures) until her insurance will start covering things at 100%. And even then she will still have costs associated with her care like prescriptions, over-the-counter meds, Ensure, etc. AND, it will start all over again in 2016.
We are trying to raise at least $5,000 so Ana doesn't have to worry about a single penny. Anything you are able to give is most appreciated. And if you'd like to send something in lieu of cash, gift cards are also welcome. HEB, Randall's, Target, WalMart, and gas gift cards would all be fantastic for Ana to have. You can private message her on Facebook for our mailing address.
