I’m a Patient Care Technician; I have been taking care of many people with all kind of diseases and needs. I have seen diseases that you would not think that is possible to exist. Elderly that doesn’t have anyone in this world anymore. I feel very grateful and useful to be able to help them when it seems like the rest the world has given up. Unfortunately working at a hospital and going to college my paycheck was not enough to put gas in my car, pay the toll or pay for my lunch. I have been cleaning homes to supplement my income. All of my life I have been a hard worker doing any job to survive. The rigorous Admissions Committee of Holy Name Medical Center has accepted me in their Register Nurse Program, but now I can work only part time. Even with financial AID, I still need more $2000 for the first trimester, besides books and uniforms. Holy Name Medical Center will cost me $8000 just for the first year! Today there are many hospitals and other institutions in need of experienced and well-trained nurses or physicians however much students drop out because of the rigorous program or not being able to afford college and keep working. I tried to take a loan from the bank, but to no avail because I don’t have a cosigner. Finally, when I become a register nurse, it will be possible to do much more for the people I have been taking care of and also to realize my full potential both professionally and personally. Thanks for your time in reading my narration, if you feel that I deserve your consideration, you can make a difference with any amount that will be very helpful and appreciated. I hope in the future I can return all kindness and attention.
