Dear Family and Friends,
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
As you all know, Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast hard last week. My Aunt Dee used to live in the Gerritsen Beach section of southeast Brooklyn, where the storm surge flooded and destroyed most homes. When the hurricane hit, we were only able to save her wheelchair, her medicine and Maddie, the cat. Other than that, Aunt Dee has lost her home and nearly everything else, and has since been staying with my parents at our home in Marine Park. The burden has fallen on my parents, who are very proud people and would not think of asking of help in this case, which is why I would like to on their behalf. In time, we will find Aunt Dee a new home in the area that is handicap accessible and begin anew!
I know that everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disaster, which is why we are appreciative of any help that you are willing to give. Every penny will get us closer to getting Aunt Dee back on her feet again.
Thanks again everyone for your time and lots of love to you all.
