help autistic woman go back to school
Organized by: Meghan Arana-Young
The photo is of an emaciated ex race horse my husband and I rehabilitated when he came to us his hooves were six inches long and he had abscesses in all four hooves and he was 700 pounds underweight the photo is about half way through his rehabilitation, When we were done he was fat and happy and placed with a family for no charge. I am a 32 year old autistic woman and I want to go back to school to be a vet tech but I need some help paying for my first term after which I will qualify for student loans and grants. To anyone who helps thank you so much for helping me achieve my lifelong goal of working with and helping animals. I will also use my degree for charitable organisations like the ASPCA and the Oregon Humane Society as well as private cases. I grew up training horses for disabled children unfortunately a riding accident broke my neck so I can no longer do that but working with animals is not only a lifelong dream it's also like therapy for me, this money would completely change my life as I cannot work in settings that are not animal based, it spins me into full blown panic attacks but I apprenticed an equine vet for a year when I was 12 and worked in a vet clinic for 2 years with no panic so it is the only line of work I can actually do, unfortunately no vet clinics will hire you anymore without a degree, I would go to school to be an actual vet but I'm already 32 and don't know that I could handle the 8 years of school to become a vet so I will settle for being a tech. Thanks again for your support.
