Educational Support for Ebola Orphans Youth in Bafodia
Organized by: Salifu Kamara
The town of Bafodia is located in Northern Sierra Leone and was deeply affected by the Ebola outbreak this last year. While Bafodia was not directly affected, it was impacted by surrounding villages that were. As a cultural bastion, given its designation as a Cheifdom headquarters, Bafodia youth suffered great losses. Many lost their families and some even lost complete hope of furthering their education
While those, including ourselves, living in the U.S. were lucky to have the privilege and infrastructure to avoid the outbreak altogether for the most part, those in Africa suffered tremendous losses. Salifu has a personal connection to the community since he was born and raised there. We need your help to raise education resources for the youth of Bafodia. We appreciate your support and ask that you give whatever you can, even if it's just $5 bucks.
The money will primarily go towards 2 key souces:
1. To buy school materials, which includes books and stipends for children
2. To build two water wells for the community. The current water situation in Bafodia is life threatening because the water is contamianted, but there is no available alternative.
