You know how people fundraising for charity say, "Every dollar makes a difference?"
Well, that is especially true if you're donating to India, where the exchange rate is currently 46 rupees to the dollar.
I'm asking you to donate $10 to buy a school bus for mentally disabled children in New Delhi, India.
In India, there aren't that many schools for disabled children. The government schools are overcrowded and don't meet children's needs. This is why a couple in New Delhi decided to take matters into their own hands. They built their own school, and it's a great one. I know firsthand because I am friends with one of the students. He is the kid in the picture being lifted up by his brother. His name is Priyank (I am not making this up! We're name buddies). The son of my mom's college roommate, Priyank is 11 years old and has cerebral palsy. This school is a godsend. It has really helped Priyank become calmer and more relaxed over the years.
The old school bus that Priyank takes to school can hardly even be called a school bus-- it is a tattered old van. It breaks down every day or every few days, so the children wait for it to start up again in India's hot weather without any fan or air conditioning. They spend less time in school as a result. The van is going to stop working any day now, and the school needs a new one.
One van costs $9,000. They have already raised half. I'd like to help raise $2,000 for them.
Please donate $10 (or more!) to this great cause! You would be making a huge impact in the lives of these children.
Thanks so much,
