Help BYP Bay Area Chapter Get to BYP100 National Convening
Organized by: BYP100 Bay Area Chapter
EVENT DATE Mar 12, 2016
BYP100 is an activist member-based organization of Black 18-35 year olds, dedicated to creating justice and opportunity for marginalized people, especially black youth. Its membership is comprised of young black activists from labor, electoral politics, media, reproductive rights, environmental politics, prison abolition and other sectors of political struggle.
Together, we have built Black Power across the nation through national campaigns like #SayHerName #BlackWorkMatters and #FundBlackFutures. Locally, our members wear many organizing hats and we work hard to collaborate with and support the work of our comrades in Oakland and the Bay Area. In 2015, we teamed up with BLM Bay Area, the Anti-Police Terror Project and other Black organizers on campaigns like #Justice4Yuvette #SayHerName #BreakTheCurfew and #BlackBrunch.
We hope to make 2016 an even bigger year than the last and plan to start by getting our members to the first ever BYP100 National Convening! The national convening will take place March 12-15, 2016 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The convening will be the in-person convergence for our more than 200 members to come together from California to Louisiana, and from Illinois to Washington, DC, everyone will be coming together in Raleigh. For three days we will focus on intensive trainings, workshops, political education, strategy sessions, and healing spaces centered around building strong members, chapters, and programs for BYP100.
Please consider donating or sharing today to help get BYP Bay Area to North Carolina next month. Your contributions will directly assist members in covering travel costs, food, lodging and registration.
