Help Carroll Attend College at SWCID in Texas
Organized by: Charelle Barnes
Hi! My name is Charelle Barnes and this young man beside me is my oldest son, Carroll. In 1995, after Caroll was born I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a few years ago my cancer has become terminal. When Carroll was born he suffered 2 years with ear infections. At the age of 3 I learned that he had loss his hearing due to those chronic ear infections. Carroll is now totally deaf. I myself have been in and out of the hospital and under numerous doctors care. I've tried to work but I would always have to resign due to my illness. Carroll's dad had to have emergency surgery in May, 2015 and another surgery in June, 2015 which has really hurt our financial situation even more.
Our son, Carroll, has been accepted to the Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf in Texas and as we all know college is very expensive. He has received 2 scholarships but still has a financial gap. Currently Carroll is working a summer job to help with closing that gap. My hope is that this fund will at least get him to Texas for college and help with his first year.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 ESV
