Help Christine & Pups w/New Start, Buy, Build & Teach Green!
Organized by: Christine Nonnenmacher
Well awesome people, thank you for your consideration! The property written about here has been sold & at this point I'm waiting to hear the closing of escrow to be finalized. I will continue to look for the perfect property for my home & project. And the good news is I've got a much lower goal set at this point. Thank you so much!!!
This is a unique opportunity to help me help others then own the entire shebang for your self/heirs after I pass, because I don't have children! Of course that's if you put up all the $$$ at once! Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, are you reading this? Being a health professional but homeless, living with my sister and expecting a probably-too-small-to-build-anywhere-in-the U.S.-inheritance, I've been anxious over what-am-I-gonna-do, the price of buying or building a home, lack of sufficient income, and the cost of living in general, yet still filled with knowing miracles happen every day! Simultaneously I wonder why nobody's solved the housing crisis, especially for the homeless in this, the greatest, richest country in the world! But I know society's gotten too big for itself, & separated. I keep looking for anything that's possible, anywhere! and found that Treutlan County GA has no zoning! So building doesn't have any impact fees like where local to me to build is about $17,000 (HALF MY estimated BUILDING BUDGET!) None of that in Treutlan County, GA!!! I found a 32-acre property for sale, with a big house, pine trees that produce income to cover taxes, pecan trees, and some old out-buildings that could help me build a coffee shop at the road-side edge of the property. My vision just kept expanding. I will build a coffee-shop-stop to produce income from products/info from the property; I will re-use the old out-buildings structures to construct the coffee shop; I will build my own 1700 sq. ft. home, already designed, 2 BR, 2 BA (from my own small inheritance, coming soon hopefully); I will use the big house until my home is built then update & rent it, or use it as a conference center/location property (it is about 3.5 hours outside Atlanta); I will build the garden of my dreams including herbs, lettuces, kale, collards, chards, tomatoes, beans, etc; I will grow trees - peaches, avocado, citrus - lemon, lime, orange & grapefruit, and I already have Crape Myrtle trees growing; I will teach people how to grow all of this. Next I ran across cob building on the internet and realized that instead of building wood cabins out of pine off the property for accommodations I could have cob experts come and teach cob-building to eventually use as accommodations for homeless/passersby/visitors; Then I can teach people free of charge because most of them charge an outrageous amount of $$$!!! but I understand :) If all else failed I could subdivide the property & sell it off in smaller parts, using what I want for myself, maybe 5 acres, but it's all very exciting and I can't and won't turn back now!!! But there's a few low-ball offers on the property & I need to offer more, AND MOVE QUICKLY!!! The property right now is $180,000 but I want to offer $190,000, the ELDER OWNER'S original asking price (her husband passed last year). And the extra $60,000 goes to clear the coffee-shop land area, build a new water-catchment system, buy a pick-up, roto-tiller, mower & other necessary equipment to build self-sustainability for the property, probably updating the old house if anything's left for that. I have been researching home-building of all kinds for decades. I am a design freak, addicted to HGTV. I have always been close to the building industry through my grandfather, brother and actually have experience working at the AIA publishing books including the American Institute of Architects Handbook of Professional Practice, years ago in the mid '80s. I typeset & proofread the books we published. I am alarmed at the price of homes, the quantity of homeless everywhere & how they are treated. There are over 60,000 homeless kids in Florida alone, and a Homelessness Council that doesn't know how to build the homeless homes. There seems to be a movement now to get homeless veterans homes, but why not EVERYBODY who is homeless into homes, even temporary homes? Cob or cobb building uses the earth under the structure to build the structure itself and is one of the original building methods known. Some buildings exist that are from the 15th century. I grew up in Bethesda, MD, lived in LA for 10 years, then Hawaii for 13 years. I had good jobs until I had 2 car accidents 10 years apart and never really recovered financially since I lived in small towns instead of big cities. It doesn't take much to become homeless. It takes 2 seconds. If the insurance company actually covered me for what they could have my life might be very different. But gaining homes has to do with knowing how to build and laws regulating them. That's why I found Treutlan County, someplace fairly warm year-round, not too far from the ocean (about 2 hours), a place where I can build without exorbitant ridiculous, or restrictive fees making a roof overhead impossible to be had. Please help me! Donate! Or invest the entire amount! I will turn it over in its entirety including my own home after I pass. I just want to build my own home. That's not too much to ask for an American and her American dream. I was born in George Washington hospital in D.C. for goodness sake. Can't get any more Washingtonian-American than that! :) Mahalo & Aloha!!! Please spread the word, pass on my URL!!! THANK YOU!!!
