This winter, from December 28th to January 18th, I've been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Tamale, Ghana, with Saha Global. Saha Global is a non-profit organization that works to both empower women in rural communities and solve their needs for clean water and electricity by helping them start businesses. 100% of these businesses that Saha has helped implement are still running today!
I will be working with the solar energy branch of the project for the course of my three weeks in Ghana. My fellow field representatives and I will be meeting with the women of the village and constructing a solar-powered charging center from the ground up; at the end of our project, we will put the business in the hands of the village's women, so they can run it on their own and become even stronger leaders in their own community.
The funds I raise will pay for the cost of the solar business equipment: 100-Watt solar panels connected to a charge controller, a 1,200-Watt battery, and a 600-Watt inverter. My team and I will also be providing each village household with lanterns that use rechargeable batteries from the new business.
I'm incredibly excited to be traveling to Ghana, but I can't do it without your help! No donation is too small, and please share my cause with your friends and family!
