Devoted Jesus Follower's Hobby
Organized by: David Ta
Hello, my name is David Ta and I decided to start a fundraiser here to possibly help me have extra spending money to buy Magic the Gathering trading cards which is my hobby. Please continue reading.
A little about my life is I was saved a few years ago in a non-Christian home and I believe God has given me a heart for the Gospel and for his kingdom and the way I live my life should be an indication of that. I work full-time at a global non-profit Christian missions agency (can't share the name). I have been there for eight years and am still there because I believe it to be God's will for me to be there. Despite not getting raises for some years, I stuck it out. Recently I got a nice raise so that was great.
I approach every day open to God's will in my life. In my ordinary days, it may involve me getting to talk to someone on a train or feeding a homeless person who asked for money. I even may put myself at risk to do the right thing. I have stopped a thief by cutting his path off. I have spoke to a group of teenagers in the back of a trolley, I helped bring a man into the kingdom by talking to him and sharing a story. He said he would never believe unless a miracle happened and guess what it did. :) Four months later, he was a new man. I have even spoken to people who told me they used to be in jail before but didn't flinch. This is just how God uses me.
I like to listening to worship music during the course of my day whether it be in the morning commute, at work, or when I take time to pray. In my free time I like reading books on Christian growth, bible reading, and listening to sermons. Each and every day I make it my effort to take a positive step forward in my faith and I try to run this race to the best of my (God's ability). I am part of multiple bible studies and try to manage that as best as humanly possible making time for people, I spend a lot of time crafting Facebook posts that share and witness the life of Christ, and as I understand it, God has me now witnessing to atheists on an atheist Facebook page so I get to use a lot of apologetics here.
I donate a decent amount of money to World Vision for being someone who works at a non-profit, I tithe, and I pay all of the utility bills at home while living with my mom. And sometimes I try to use my money to witness to friends and family as well (I'm the only Christian in my family). I bought my friend's dad a Blue Ray movie just to witness to him around Christmas.
Well, this is my life and how I live it. I know my cause isn't a great cause but I thank you for taking the time to read about it. Collecting these Magic the Gathering cards and playing with them is one of the few non-church related activities I have. Thank you for your consideration and for your donations.
