Tiffany Connors wrote -We are so fortunate that our family has grown this past year and that Delano is a healthy and happy baby. As we plan for this summer and Delano's first birthday, we are lucky enough to think about vacations, fun events, and general relaxation. Delano will swim, play outside, and attend many friends' birthday parties. And he'll never have to think about where his puffs, yogurt and fruit melts, and fresh produce are coming from.
But for many local families, summer means struggle. In Washington State, 46% of students qualify for free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunches. This means many families need to figure out how to replace those additional two meals every day during the summer. Help them.
In honor of Delano's upcoming first birthday, we are fundraising for Food Lifeline, a miraculous organization that provides 82,000 meals a day to local food assistance programs. Among many other programs, Food Lifeline runs a Summer Meals Program where kids and teens can eat free when school’s out for summer. Youth can come and receive a meal, no questions asked at participating sites. Some sites even have free activities for youth to participate in, such as arts and crafts, games, and story time.
Please help us by supporting this cause. We appreciate every penny.
