Help Denise Morgan in her fight with Neurofibromatosis.
Organized by: Denise P. Morgan
I am raising money to help improve my facial disfigurement. I was born with Neurofibromatosis, a medical condition that causes tumors to grow on nerve endings in my head and face. The disease affects the left side of my face causing blindness in my left eye, and I now wears a prosthesis. The left side of my face is severely disfigured with tumors growing in my head and face. I had surgeries over the years but doctors are unable to eliminate the tumor cells completely. I also tried radiation for a month to shrink the tumors but this venture proved unsuccessful. My life as been quite difficult from birth up till this moment because my environment made me aware that I was less of a person as a result of my facial disfigurement. The pain cause by the tumors are more tolerable compare to the pain and rejection I encounter in society. I am hoping and praying that I will raise enough money so doctors can work to improve my facial features. It really hurts when I approach children and they run away in fear that I am a monster and it hurts when grown adults would just stare on me or behave with scorn if I should draw near. I am sick and tired of the pain and reaching out for help.
