I am currently spending the summer in Quito, Ecuador, spending the majority of my time as an intern at a non-profit foundation named Fundación Metrofraternidad. I am also training to run a marathon in October. As part of my committment to training for the marathon, I want to commit to raise money for the amazing foundation at which I am spending my summer. I would like to raise as much money as possible to support the quality medical care and solidarity offered at Fundación Metrofraternidad.
Fundación Metrofraternidad is associated with the best hospital in Ecuador, Hospital Metropolitano. Fundación Metrofraternidad provides health care services to the poorest citizens of Ecuador; the patients travel to Quito from all around Ecuador to receive specialty care for their desperate medical cases. The Foundation offers the patients a comprehensive experience. First, a caring social worker evaulates the patient's socioeconomic situation. Next, the patient is sent directly to a consult with a family doctor who is part of the staff at Fundación Metrofraternidad. She quickly refers the patient to the appropriate department in the Hospital, and the patient receives the appropriate consultation with a specialist.
Fundación Metrofraternidad was created in 1986 in response to a desire to extend quality medical services to the citzens of Ecuador who do not have the financial resources necessary to access the quality health care provided at Hospital Metropolitano.
Hospital Metropolitano has close working relationships with fantastic hospitals such as Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and numerous other hospitals around the globe. The hospital performs complex surgeries and utilizes the latest in surgical technology. Hospital Metropolitano is accredited by the Joint Commisson International, an organization that focuses on quality of service, patient safety, and managerial quality.

Or, if you want to know more about my experience there, feel free to email me personally at email@example.com. I would love to share my experience and passion with you!
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a fundraising organization that allows me to directly raise funds for an international organization. So, the best I can do is share this page with you and ask for you to make a donation to me personally so that I can share it with Fundación Metrofraternidad. That means we're going on the honors system here. I have opened a specific new bank account with Wells Fargo, so that any donations I receive can be deposited in a separate, safe account. Then, in October, I will directly wire the funds I have raised to the bank account of Fundación Metrofraternidad with Banco del Pacifico in Quito, Ecuador. I sincerely hope that you understand my passion for helping others and trust me enough to make a donation in this manner. To make a donation, please take the first step by sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org telling me that you would like to donate; I will give you further details from there!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my cause, and I sincerely appreciate each and every donation that I can share with Fundación Metrofraternidad!
