BENEFITING: Friends of the Tsunami Animal-People Alliance
Since 2005 the Tsunami Animal-People Alliance (TAPA) has worked in Sri Lanka to sterilize and vaccinate over 45,000 dogs. Their work has contributed greatly to the reduction of rabies in Sri Lanka, while also humanely controlling the Island's dog population.
TAPA's goal is to vaccinate and sterilise five thousand animals per year, educate regarding responsible pet ownership, and raise awareness of the link between the welfare of the animals in a community and the welfare of the people.
To run another clinic in Trincomalee, in Sri Lanka’s tsunami zone and former civil war zone, TAPA needs your help. TTheir clinics are implemented by a team of 12, including vets, vet techs, and animal handlers. Each clinic spays/neuters/vaccinates about 250 dogs and costs $5,875 dollars. By donating $23.50 you will cover the cost of fully spaying/neutering and vaccinating one dog.
Every dollar you give will help to improve the quality of life of Sri Lanka's citizens (both human and canine).
