BENEFITING: FACES SF
The FACES SF Fathers Program provides trauma-informed individual and group therapy and supportive services at no cost to fathers from underserved neighborhoods in San Francisco such as Bayview Hunter’s Point and Visitacion Valley.
By donating, you will give motivated low-income fathers a chance to transform their lives – and live a life that most of us take for granted. Our program’s impact on these fathers’ lives is reflected in positive, real life changes, such as, developing healthier relationships with their children, family and others, obtaining and sustaining a job, completing their GED or higher education, securing stable housing, and maintaining their recovery from addiction.
More On the Program
Low-income fathers who grew up without a father presence or with minimal father involvement are more at risk to a host of vulnerabilities, such as being victims of violence and abuse, incarceration and chronic unemployment, tragically repeating the patterns of their own childhoods. Giving these fathers a chance to heal themselves, reconnect with their children and families, and stop perpetuating the cycle of violence and trauma is the critical need that the FACES SF’s Father’s Program addresses.
