Felix Cortina is 12 years old, energetic and resilient, and has just begun fighting stage III Non-Hodgkins, anaplastic Lymphoma.
Felix is undergoing an intense weekly rotation of 4 types of chemotherapy drugs at Stanford. It is a long road, but he is extremely brave and determined to get better.
One day, Felix noticed a lump in his armpit."Sloth", as Felix nicknamed it, grew bigger, and finally the attention of the doctors who did not think much of it at first. Sloth was removed and biopsied. His single mom (who had just moved the family to San Diego) moved back immediately for Felix to be treated and has been staying in friends homes, as she hasn't the time or money to find her own place.
He is enrolled in "Hospital school" at Stanford for the summer so he can get a head start through the next year. Home school is the best option for next year as he will still be in treatment.
Our goal is to provide stability and support for this beautiful family and to raise awareness of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
We're hosting a Dance-a-Thon, featuring DJs, a photo-booth, live painting, a silent auction & more. Learn more.
When and where?
Sunday, July 28, noon-8pm
Harlot@ 46 Minna St, San Francisco
