Help Fight Slumlords
Organized by: Amber McConaughy
A local apartment management firm based in Minnesota has been willing noncompliant with state statutes, federal law, and judicial orders. I am starting this cause to hire a lawyer against this company and their collection agency in the hopes the previous, current, and future tenants are rewarded due diligence for this companies illegal behavior.
I originally brought said company to small claims court in 2012 with the judgment in my favor only to have this company exhibit contempt of court and sell a debt to their collection agency fraudulently, resulting in a damage of over 200 points to my personal credit score in less than one year. Despite being contacted by myself and Minnesota's Attorney General, both companies are still attempting to collect a fraudulent debt.
My fear is that I am not the sole recipient of their unethical and noncompliant behavior. I am meeting with a local law firm in the hopes to start a class action lawsuit against both companies, for restitution for current and previous tenants, as well as to reprimand them for their actions so further injustice does not occur.
