Help for homeless teen
Organized by: Jewell Ford
Hello my name is Jewell ford. I was born and raised in Atlanta ga by my grandmother and my mother.. My father was never in the picture. My mother began drinking alcohol after my grandfather passed away in 2001. With time things gradually got worse pushing family members away and struggling with mental and physical abuse. Authorities were usually called but my mother would make them believe she was perfectly okay. Watching my mother fight constantly with her partners put a huge toll on my sister and I. My grandmother would take us to church with her but there wasn't much she could considering she lived in an elderly home and on welfare. After she passed away my mothers drinking became binging she lost her job we were soon evicted . It was extremely hard trying to graduate high school and deal with no where to go home too. We slept in the van but soon lost that. I was able to get a really good job and lease a vehicle. I moved to New Orleans since I was accepted into school. Times are even harder than they were then. My car note is 100$ per week and 300$ for insurance. I am having a difficult time finding a good job. I sleep in my car and ride around all day trying to find Pennies to get something to eat. I cry everyday because I thought I saw light at the end of tunnel since I was accepted into school but I have to pay 2,800 before I can even start. Any donation would be greatly appreciated even if is only 1 cent . I am extremely grateful I just need help to get on my feet.
