This fundraiser is a reaction to the tragic 7.8 magnitude earthquake that centered in Nepal on Saturday morning, April 25th. The earthquake affected areas spanning from India to Tibet. Nepal is a third world country, and most of its buildings are insecure and unstable. The large mountain range that passes through the region made the earthquake even more devastating as it caused multiple landslides and avalanches which destroyed mountain villages and blocked passes and roads in and out of these towns. There have been 65 aftershocks, the largest hitting a 6.0 magnitude, and the people are sleeping outside in cold mountain temperatures either because their homes are collapsed or they fear they will collapse from aftershocks. 4,000 have already died and many more are expected to die due to injuries, lack of food and water, and other dangers. Some villages can't even be reached because the roads are blocked with debris. Though over a dozen countries and many charities are pitching in, THEY NEED MORE HELP!
