Help for salyantar, Nepal
Organized by: Pragyan Gautam
My name is Pragyan Burlakoti. My husband, Rishi Burlakoti and I would like to request to get support to provide relief materials to earthquake victim of remote district of Nepal. Nepal is a small beautiful Himalayan South Asian country. You may have also heard from the recent news, the country is suffering from two devastating big earthquakes, 7.8 magnitude and 7.3 magnitude on April 25th and May 12th, respectively. The death toll has already exceeded 8,600 with more than 30,000 seriously injured. With more than a million kids affected either with loss of their parents or by school/house building collapsed, there has been fear that these innocent children won't be able to attend school and continue education in immediate future. According to the Ministry of Education in Nepal, a minimum of NRs. 4 billion is needed just to make temporary arrangements for running earthquake-hit public and government schools.
Our hometown, Salyantar, Dhading (about 15 KM from first earthquake epicenter) is badly affected by quake. About 90% of residential houses were collapsed, 30 people died, and hundreds of peoples were injured. We are trying to raise fund to support children of earthquake victims in Salyantar village. In particular, the supports will be used to buy stationary items, school dresses or the urgent materials for school children in public school, along with possible school re-building materials. In our opinion, small supports from you will make big impact to school kids in that remote school village.
Although we may not be able to physically support them, we want to help them in any way possible.
Each dollars = 83 Nepalese Rupees so please help donating even a single cent.
Money will go directly to survivors from two devastating and deadly earthquakes.
