Help Fred See

THE STORY:

You know that phrase, "Blind in one eye, can't see out of the other"? Well, that's my cousin, Fred. He is legally blind in both eyes - but he has an opportunity to see like never before! Can you imagine not ever seeing the crispness of a freshly fallen snow or the fullness of a brilliant rainbow? A company called "eSight eyewear" has created a way for Fred and others like him to see 20/20 for the first time ever. Last month, Fred was fortunate enough to travel two hours from his home and try these glasses on. Once they were fitted and tuned in, it happened. He saw 20/20... through tears of joy. Fred is such a good guy, and deserving of this help. He is among the most friendly and tender hearted men you'll ever meet. He deserves a chance to see. Many of us will never know the vision we have. We wake, put on glasses or insert contact lenses, and go about our day. So many live without that convenience. But, what if they could? What if they could see? Sight is a remarkable gift to give! Thank you for your contributions, friends and family! Here is Fred's story from his point of view: " My vision is 20/400 in my left eye & 20/200 in my right. I am right eye dominant. I've been wearing the Feinbloom Telescopic Lens since I was 8 yrs. old. A human interest story was done on me back then in the Saginaw News. It had went UPI (AP now). So it went all over the nation. For many years my mom had gotten calls about them. I've tried other glasses as well. I've got another brand called OcuTech which I have both versions. I've got a manual focus which is a 6x power & the auto-focus model which is a 4x power. Neither of them are as strong as my current telescopic lens which is 8x power. I use them the most because they're stronger & give me a better field of vision. Now with the eSight glasses, my vision would be the same, but the magnification would be extremely better. I could read at 20/16 print. Which is absolutely fantastic for me! I was just blown away at how well I could see with them. I could see across a busy street & see the make & model of a car/truck which with the various glasses that I've got here, I can't really do that. It's just amazing what these new eSight glasses would do for me. " Thank you for your help!

Good luck Fred! I remember your previous glasses as far back as Central Intermediate…working hard to do the combination on your locker. I hope these make everything easier. I'll contribute more as I'm able. In the meantime, good luck on your campaign! 2 years ago
