THE STORY:

We are the Vermilion Family, Scott, Andrea and our three boys ages 8, 7 and 3. We also have a daughter, she is 7 years old. She was born to another birth mother and father in Eastern Europe and she was placed in an orphanage at birth! She is very beautiful girl with a great possibility to overcome her delay's with the right family. She has a moderate neurological delay from being in the orphanage for so long without the love, stimulation, and life experiences a normal child would receive in a loving home. At 7 years old she can only say 2-3 words at a time, she does not understand her own emotions and throws tantrums like a toddler would. All of this is commonly due to her time in the orphanage, but all of it also has a great possibility to be surpassed. With the correct care from different specialists and alot of time and dedication from a loving family. She has been in a foster home now for a couple years, where she has made some progress. Unfortunately the foster home is in a very poor region and she is not able to receive the proper medical care she truly needs. We really love this little girl, and every one of us thinks about her constantly.

We have always had he desire to adopt internationally, to help out a child in need. A child in a lesser developed country that would never have the opportunities that the United States can offer. Our adoption conversations were never a "if we adopt", but always a "when we adopt". We were just waiting for the right time in our lives and in our childrens' lives to take the adoption journey. We had realized we were ready last December, and in early January we happened to get this little girl's profile in e-mail.

We had received hundreds of profiles in e-mail through the years. We are signed up with an online adoption site that sends weekly profiles of waiting children. But it was her profile, it was her story that we both had an instant connection with. Weeks went by as we tried to not think about her, and as we continued to look at hundreds more profiles, not a single one "had us" like she did. We have yet to meet her, but we feel its almost as if she has chosen us. That god sent her to both of us that specific day for a reason. The day we both happen to click on the e-mail and look at the waiting childrens' profile, the same day I received an expected packet in the mail about the local foster to adopt program. We had previously decided we could not afford international adoption, so we were looking into the foster to adopt program, but when we saw her profile, we could not even bring ourselves to open that envelope for Foster to Adopt. We discussed adopting her, but the financial involvement was holding us back. After some time went by, we made the decision that we could not let money make the decision for us, we could not let money decide whether or not this little girl ever got a family and the help she needs! If we did not try, what would happen to her?

So here we are....already calling her our daughter, because that is how we feel! Doing our best to raise the funds to bring her home on our own, but it is getting harder to find the way. Our boys are always asking about "sissy" and can not wait to have her here. We expect to have her in December, but our boys think that is just way too far away, as do we. We have been in process since January for her adoption and we are moving along nicely, but our funds are now diminishing and we need to raise the rest in order to bring her home. The total adoption cost is over $36,000! We have the first half paid for, now it's up to more fundraising, praying we will be approved for a few grants, and donations. If you are able to donate, any amount is going to help! Any amount is so very much appreciated..all the way to the moon and back! If you are not able, please keep us in your prayers. Please pray for her safety and health until we can have her in our arms!

Also, if you are hesitant, (as I would be) because the percentage (1%) this site takes out  We do have a pay pal account that accepts $ from friends and family without any charges.  You just sign on to paypal.com and select "send payment" at the top, then select "friends/family" tab.  Then all you need is our e-mail address.
