Help me get a graduate education to be a nurse practitioner!
Organized by: Jason Fisher
Hi, I'm Jason Fisher and I need your help to pay for my graduate education so that I can be a nurse practitioner. I very much want to be able to provide the best, evidence-based care of people, as well as help improve the healthcare system in our country. I have found the best quality education for the lowest cost in my home state of Ohio at Kent State University. I plan to pay for it using student loans, but I need help as I already have substantial debt from paying for my previous undergraduate degrees completely on my own. I started off at The Ohio State University with a B.A. in economics and political science, got an internship, and ended up quickly getting promoted in finance. I had left to work at a startup when the great recession hit and the business was not doing well. I wanted to pursue a new, more reliable and rewarding career in healthcare to help people on both an individual and system-wide level. I managed to first test my ability to overcome the gross-out factors of nursing by obtaining a practical nursing diploma, then an A.S. in nursing, before graduating from Ohio University magna cum laude. My nursing career now spans over 5 years and I have had some early accomplishments that have resulted in my recently having been honored with the Ohio Nurse of the Year Rising Star award by the March of Dimes. I care deeply about being able to provide the best possible care for individuals, and working to help improve the healthcare system for everyone. Your contribution will not only benefit me through making my education possible, but I will translate that into helping thousands of people feel better, get better care from others, and prevent illness in the first place.
