BENEFITING: Saha Global
EVENT DATE: Dec 07, 2015
Hello my name is Rana Abdel-Sattar and I want to make a difference!
With the little time off I have between finishing up my Bachelor’s degree in civil & environmental engineering at UC Berkeley and taking on a full time job, I have been offered the unique opportunity to volunteer in Ghana with Saha Global, an inspiring non-profit organization.
As a field representative in the 3 week-long 2016 Winter Global Leadership Program, I will be training local women how to operate and manage clean water businesses within their community. This program is designed to simultaneously provide long-term support to developing communities, empower women, and create a sustainable environment!
Founded in 2008, Saha Global has already successfully launched 78 water businesses providing clean water to more than 40,000 people. 100% of these businesses are still in operation today!
Today, 40% of the population in Northern Ghana lacks access to clean drinking water. Donating is the first step towards solving this problem. Let’s create a long lasting impact on the quality of life of the Ghana communities! Your contributions will directly go towards the start-up cost of a village’s new water business and the long-term monitoring cost for the next 5 years. Any amount is truly appreciated. I promise that I will do my best to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for my assigned local community in Ghana!
If you donate over a 100$ I will make sure to get you a souvenir from Ghana :)
