Help Get Sookie's Kittens Adopted
Organized by: Peter Freeman
A couple of months ago a young female cat appeared in our neighborhood. She was very sweet and just wanted to be around people. She was also obviously abandoned. There was nothing feral about her. Everyone in the neighborhood helped out in taking care of her, feeding her and so forth, but no one felt able to take her in. Unfortunately, before we could get her spayed, she got pregnant. That's when my wife and I took her in. We couldn't let her have a litter of kittens out in the heat of a Memphis summer.
She's since given birth. Three little boys and two little girls; one is just the cutest thing with little white feet. But, already having two dogs and two cats, not to mention a six year old daughter, we can't afford to keep the new babies. We've made the decision to adopt the mother (who we've named "Sookie" - yes, we're True Blood fans), but we can't become an EIGHT cat family. We need help at this time getting the kittens spayed or neutered and getting them their first rounds of shots. This will help getting them adopted much easier.
The money we're asking for will go towards their care for the next 8 weeks until they're ready for adoption as well as paying for the procedures to get them spay or neutered and all their necessary vaccinations. And funds left over will go towards getting Miss Sookie Stakehouse neutered as well so we can avoid this happening again.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for anything you can give. We thank you, Sookie thanks you, and the 5 little kittens we'll be finding new homes for thank you. And just for the sake of full disclosure, we have another page for this same request on a different site. However, once we reach the target figure, we will close down BOTH sites. Thanks again.
