The monthly payment is 400. every month. We have been very fortunate to have so many loving donations gifted towards her bill.
Gracie has had 2 follow up appointments the first one showed some healing but the fracture was still apparent. The second appointment was yesterday and it has put fear into our hearts. Here is a quote from the radiograph report:
Case Details: Gracie is a 4 year old female spayed
mixed breed that presented for a 2 month recheck exam after having a C2 fracture stabilized with multiple
implants and bone cement. Radiographs were performed one month after surgery, and looked good, but at
2 months there appears to be some movement of the fracture fragments and possible implant failure.
Patient is clinically normal, and not displaying any signs of pain (patient was extremely painful prior to
We have been diligent in keeping Gracie crated and quiet. We will continue to do so and ask for your continued prayers. Please share our story so we can continue to get help with her surgical bill. I am offering to do whimsical style paintings of your pet in exchange for donnation please contact me for details.
Gracie is Home!!!! On November 4, 2014 our Gracie had a terrible accident running in the dark after an animal in our back yard. We believe she hit a tree or perhaps the fence. It happened in the space of about 2 minutes. She sustained a major fracture of her C1 and C2 neck vertebrae. It was severe and she required surgery to survive. A couple of days after her surgery to fuse her bones back together, the surgery failed resulting in Gracie to be in horrendous and unbearable pain. We rushed her back to hospital prepared for the worst but the doctors were able to manage her pain and preformed a second surgery which so far has been successful. We had to return her to hospital for medical supervision for 2 more weeks because they were unable to keep a cast on her to keep her neck stable. So now after a month and 6 days we have our Amazing Gracie back home. We have to keep her in strict crate rest, only out of crate to eat, drink or potty for another 4 to six weeks. This will be well worth the effort for the reward is having many more loving years with our sweet girl. We are so grateful to all of your prayers, kind words and financial support. Through your kindness we have been able to pay down her bill a great deal but we could still use some financial help with a chunk of the remainder.
I do whimsical art portraits of animals for a living. I would like to offer an exchange of art for your generous donations. Within the next few days I will be posting my offerings and some items of art I have created . Thank you so much and please continue to share our story, it truly is amazing. Puppy kisses from Gracie.
Gracie is our sweet 4 year old mixed breed girl who has fractured her neck and needs surgery and medical care to survive. She is on the surgery schedule for 11/07/2014 at Animal Neurology and MRI Center in Commerce Michigan. Her accident happened in her own fenced back yard, she was chasing something in the dark and smacked into a tree fracturing her C1 and C2 vertebrae in her neck. She is not paralyzed at this time and the Dr says she is a good candidate for surgery and expect a good outcome and excellent quality of life for her afterwards. The medical bills are more than we her owners can afford and we love her dearly and do not want to euthanize her simply because we cannot afford her care. Ironically we had just signed her up for dog insurance which would have covered 80% of the bills but her accident occurred 2(yes 2) days before the required waiting period for coverage was up. They will not change their rule and allow coverage. Since this happened during the waiting period they consider it a pre-exsisting condition and will never cover any part of it. We are good and responsible pet owners who did everything right for our girl, we take such good care of her and having pet insurance was part of that plan. We cannot let her just die so we are asking for your help in paying her mounting medical bills. Gracie's dog mom is an artist who paints pet portraits and works with all sorts of animal rescues donating a good portion to them to help with the care of animals. Dad is an automotive painter who works very hard everyday and loves nothing more than to see his beloved Gracie Girl wiggling and waiting for him at the door after his long hard day at work. Your donation will help pay her medical care costs and if there is extra left over we will donate to an animal rescue that aids sick and hurt animals Thank you.
Gracie had her first surgery to repair her vertebrae but is failed. This resulted in her being in excruciating pain. The surgeons did a second surgery and so far so good. They are keeping her at vet hospital to moniter her crate rest and her cast. We really are missing her but we are truly grateful she is alive and that we have had so many prayers and support. Our bill was over 12,000.00. Through fund raisers we have gotten it down to the 7000.00 range. We still need help. Please consider sharing Gracie's amazing story and contribute to her fund if you are able. Any amount is appreciated. We thank each and everyone of you who have helped us so far.
