Help Hannah Teach in Uganda
Organized by: Hannah Buckmaster
EVENT DATE Jan 01, 2016
It has always been my dream to be a teacher and help children. Now as a senior Education major I am very close to reaching my dreams. I am traveling to Uganda in January to teach English as the start of my student teaching through Birmingham-Southern College. Most of these children are orphans and need any kind of love, support and mentoring possible. I want to be one of those people! The school where I will be teaching provides not only education but also nutrition, immunization and healthcare to more than 600 disadvantaged children in Uganda. After studying the goals and values of this school I feel an instant passion for it and the students it strives to help. Every cent raised will go towards airfare and lodging and any additional money raised will be donated to the school. I am also working at a summer camp and babysitting to help raise these funds. I have never been able to participate in any study abroad programs because of limited financial resources, but I am so passionate about this opportunity, I feel I must go! With your help I will be able to impact children and take my knowledge back to my future classroom. Please partner with me to help make this dream a reality. I can't wait to inspire a love of learning in these kids!
