Brittany Zurn wrote -Hello friends, I have recently been connected with an organization called Operation Finally Home. Aaron and I applied to have a home built closer to our families in Vandalia, Ohio. While talking to one of the Case Managers about the roots of this organization, he shared with me the amount of Veteran's they have to turn down each year due to funding. They receive a lot of support nationwide, but it will never be enough to house every that turns in the application. I was told a story about a Vet from Dayton, Ohio they had to turn down because they had already allocated all the funds for 2017 that had a sewer pipe burst in his home near Wright-Patt Air Force Base. He basically couldn't give his home away. That's how much damage the pipe caused. This weighed so heavy on my heart. It reminded me how many friends and family members I have that would give the shirt of their backs to help me if this happened. Not every military member has that, especially wounded ones. I am holding a fundraiser in the Dayton Area July 22nd. We will have a raffle, silent auction, Grub Grab, and much more. This online Fundraiser is for those of you near and far and also near and dear to me that want to support this fabulous organization. All proceeds will go to Operation Finally Home. *** Side note: There is a home on McSmith across from Smith Middle School being built by OFH that needs cabinets and a few other hardware items donated, and we could really be a helping hand to help them finish this home!!!**** Please consider giving and also joining us July 22nd at the FOP Lodge on Stop Eight Rd.
