There are many mothers who deal with an unexpected loss of a newborn child and their stories go unheard. Our agency would like to support the Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial and other mothers who experience the unexpected loss of an infant. We are raising funds to help spread awareness on how to prevent cases like this from occurring and to offer support to those who have lost a child.
The Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial is an organization that began when Susan, the mother of a 5-month old infant named Khairi, lost her baby boy to preventative measures. After experiencing abnormal signs and symptoms including cramping and spotting, Susan went to the hospital to get checked out. The hospital reassured her that everything was fine and that she should check back in next week. Shortly after, Susan stopped feeling the usual movement from Khairi that she was used to and later on that day, she gave birth to her son at 5 months. After finally getting to the hospital, the doctors were unable to save her little boy because it had been too late. Khairi’s mother soon realized that she was misinformed by the nurses when she had come in the first time. Between realizing this and then having to find funds to pay for the burial of her 5-month old, Susan realized that no mother should ever have to go through this. “There are many strong mothers dealing with the loss of a child and deserve the proper resources to educate themselves on ways to pay attention to certain signs as well as resources to help them in the event of a loss.”
The Khairi and Little Angels’ Memorial will help to educate new and experienced mothers on ways to prevent situations like what happened to Khairi from ever happening to anyone else. The organization will also provide a support group for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child due to complications in their pregnancy. On July 29th, the organization will also have a Family Fun Day Extravaganza and Fundraiser. To learn more about it, click here.
