Helping Jenny spend time with her Mom!
Organized by: Brittany Case
Thank you so much for all the support! I'm so happy that we can all come together to help her family
July 10, 2016
In June 2016, Jenny and her sister, Nicole, received devastating news that no child should ever hear. Their mom, Robin, was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer that has spread to her brain. It is unclear how much time she will have with her girls. Without treatment, it’s about 6-9 months, possibly more with treatment. Jenny’s family was told they cannot cure the cancer because it has already spread. For treatment, Robin has received radiation treatment for her brain lesion, as well as steroids to minimize the swelling in the brain all in an effort to make her feel more comfortable. Also, they have met with Dr. Burg and are moving forward with an aggressive chemotherapy. This is the best chance they have to shrink her lesions. At the end of this month, she is going to see Dana Farber for a second opinion and we are hoping for good news!
How can we help Jenny?
We all know Jenny made the move to the big city of Boston last September to take a great job at Beth Isreal! With that said she does not yet qualify for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) since she has not been there a year. I know Jenny has touched and impacted many of our lives! With the funny situations that only Jenny can get herself into, her laugh and radiating smile, she needs our help! Some of us have had the privilege of working alongside her, forming an everlasting friendship or just meeting her! Jenny is a beautiful person inside and out. She is someone who would do anything to help others, and she deserves nothing less than the same. We want her to be able to spend as much time with her mom and family!
Funds raised will help her commute from Boston to Bangor, help her mom with moving expenses, and end of life care. Any amount will help. Even just a few dollars will help with tolls, food and to help Jenny make the most of the limited time she has with her mom.
