I am inspired by my sister, Barbara, (seated in the picture) who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Her confinement to a wheelchair does not stop her from doing incredible things. When I ran my first Tough Mudder, I ran up a hill of mud and rocks to help another competitor who was struggling. While thanking me, the woman explained that her MS made her slower, but she would finish. How incredible is that?!
There are many more examples of everyday heroes like Barbara and like others with MS who I know and love. The daily challenges for those stricken with the horrible disease of MS dwarf the challenges many of us encounter in our personal and professional lives.
I will be competing in my first Triathlon this month. My goal is not to drown, not to stumble, and not to crash :-) I will be competing because I can -- and I hope you will consider donating to Barbara's non-profit, www.copingwell.org, an MS wellness/coaching support network my sister runs from her home in Denver. Please join me in supporting a worthy cause for the sake of those who are unable to swim, run, or bike because of MS.
