BENEFITING: CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION
Almost five years ago, I competed in my first triathlon and immediately fell in love with the sport. I did pretty good, however after joining the Marines and going to Okinawa I didn't have my bike so I was not able to participate in them. I am back in them now after coming back to the states and never felt better. The next step in my journey is to complete my very first Half-Ironman triathlon. Thus, I will be participating in the Chula Vista Challenge San Diego Half-Ironman triathlon on August 14, 2016. This competition consists of a 1.2 mile ocean swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run to finish it off. To top it all off, I have decided to simultaneously better the lives of others as I strive to accomplish this athletic milestone. I will be raising money for the Challenged Athletes Foundation's® (CAF) Operation Rebound® program. It is the premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel and veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities. The program provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue active, athletic lifestyles by offering access to funding for equipment and training and competition expenses, Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) and sports clinics. I would be truly honored if you would support me in my personal athletic endeavor, as well support those who have served our country. All donations will go to the CAF, I do realize $3000 can be alot, but anything will help. Please pass on and share, any amount will help! Thank you!
