Helping Women over age 65 living in Poverty.
Organized by: Liz Crouch
We constantly hear about our veterans not getting enough money to survive on from the government. The Truth is that the average military veteran gets $2,500 a month, while the average 70 year old woman gets around $700 a month from Social Security even though she may have worked all her life, and the government has not increased Social Security benefits since Obama became president while government workers pay is skyrocketing. Women over 60 are now living in stark poverty while invisible to everyone, and they cannot get into subsidized Senior housing as the waiting list is too long. My goal is to start a foundation to help senior women with necessities like cash for food, hearing aids, rent , money to fix their cars and other necessities. I would like to raise money for housing so the thousands of senior women who are homeless, or living in their cars will get help.
