UPDATE 9/8/2015: Honey B had another MRI today, and praise God it looked really good! The ventricles are smaller and the fluid is draining. Her pain is apparently only due to post-operation stuff.
UPDATE 8/24/2015: Betty Ann has been taken to the ER after she was holding the back of her head screaming, vomiting and not wanting to walk. Prayers are much appreciated during this time. Thank you.
UPDATE 8/20/2015: The opthamologist observed definite swelling in Betty Ann's optic nerve. Honey B was up til 3:00am last night crying and not eating, and for the past couple weeks she has had symptoms that are of concern. Today she was sent to the hospital for an MRI, and from there it will be determined what needs to be done. Thankfully, today's MRI will be paid for by a scholarship fund. But even so, her parents now have some unexpected expenses involved in providing care for their sweet Honey B. So please consider giving a donation to this fundraiser to help pay for those unexpected medical expenses, and know that it will mean the world to Betty Ann's family. And most of all, pray for Betty Ann. Thank you!
Betty Ann O'Halloran was born in November, 2013 and is now almost 2 years old. Shortly after her birth, she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid buildup in the cavities deep inside the brain. Betty Ann, or "Honey B" as she is affectionately called, had to undergo a major surgery to correct the condition. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and she has progressed with only minor complications so far, including the need to wear eyeglasses. But as with any major condition, it will continue to require special attention and lots of doctor visits to ensure that she stays on track and grows up to be a healthy adult. Next year, Betty Ann will almost certainly have to have another MRI, for which her parents must pay a $3,500 deductible. The goal of this fundraiser is to cover the deductible for her MRI next year and make life a little bit easier for Betty Ann and her parents. If she surprisingly doesn't need the MRI, then the proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards all her other ongoing expenses, such as eye exams, follow-up doctor visits, etc. So who's ready to help out? Let's get fundraising for sweet Honey B! And remember: every little bit counts, so don't be afraid to donate even the smallest amount for this cause.
