Helping hands for Nepal
Organized by: Vinita Hendrickson
One minute is all it took to devastate a nation, crumbling ancient heritage sites and burying thousands of people. Even Mount Everest shook and took many lives of locals and tourists that were atop the nations famous peak where tourists visit Nepal for its mountaineering.
As you woke up on Saturday morning, you must have seen the tragedy unfold on the news or social media. The deaths count was at 5027 and was feared to double that number as families search for their loved ones in the rubble. The total death count is currently at 8460. The nation is faced with the risk of disease, and more deaths due to the lack of the facilities to cremate the dead, clean running water, electricity, food and medical supplies. The nation and its citizens are gripped with the trauma and fear of another earthquake as they still feel tremors under their feet. On Tuesday, May 12th another earthquake hit this already devastated country killing more people!
My family is in Nepal at ground zero working and doing everything possible to provide help to the multitudes that are in need. Our funds alone are not sufficient enough to reach aid to the vast population that is going through the pain of this tragedy. We are working on providing medical help, clothing, other supplies, shelter and reuniting family members who have survived the earthquake. All funds collected will be 100% used to provide relief and to aid in immediate help to the families that are suffering. There is no overhead cost or deductions that are taken out of the funds you provide for this cause.
I sincerely appreciate and thank you for your kindness for any relief funds, and prayers for this small Himalayan country.
