Helping Heather's Mom on Her Road to Recovery
Organized by: Gini Holtzman
On Oct.10, 2013 Heather Garrett's Mom Linda Lyons suffered a massive stroke caused by a tumor on her heart. She was admitted to USC, and spent more than a month in a coma. Heather spent weeks by her side, not knowing if she would ever hear her Mom's voice again.
In November, Heather and her family were blessed with a miracle when Linda woke from her coma. There is no doubt in our minds that it was Heather's strength that pulled her Mom through. Although Linda is on the road to recovery, there is a long way to go.
Heather has taken on full responsibility for her Mom's care. Without hesitation she's taken conservatorship of her Mom not knowing what the future would hold. One of the things we love most about our friend Heather is that she gives freely of herself without ever asking for anything in return. She shows up for people in their time of need whether she knows them personally or not.
Tomorrow morning, May 16th, Linda will undergo heart surgery to remove the tumor which was the cause of her stroke. Our thoughts and prayers will be with Heather and her family as her mom takes her next steps towards recovery. We are hoping to help Heather with the mounting medical costs of her Mom's care. She would never ask for help on her own, so we're asking for her! Help us help Heather! Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. We are honored to be able to give back to a woman who is so deserving.
