BENEFITING: AMERICAN BLACK AND TAN COONHOUND RESCUE INC
EVENT DATE: Feb 22, 2015
If you know me, you know I love to suffer, especially when biking. Imagine my masochistic delight when I found Sufferfest - a series of vidoes which are known to be the most exciting, high-intensity, killer cycling training workouts in the world. Cool footage of professional races, kick-a$$ workouts and excellent music. Just me, my trainer and Sufferfest in the pain cave, AKA our garage.
In January I will attempt the Sufferlandia Knighthood Quest. I will complete 10 Sufferfest videos back to back over a 11+ hour period. Yes that's 11 hours of intense riding covering 165+ miles. I will tape my efforts and post updates along the way. If I can, I will attempt to talk Laura into becoming a Dame. She is on the fence.
Part of the quest is also to give back and raise money for a charity. While I love to suffer, it kills me when animals suffer which is why I will be raising money for the American Black & Tan Coonhound Rescue (ABTCR). If you have ever had a bloodhound, red tick, Treeing Walker, Black and Tan, or any other hound you know that they can the most loving pets in the world. Headstrong and rambunctious, but loyal to the core. Sadly in many parts of the country these breeds are treated like property and thrown out when they are no longer useful to their owners. Our precious Bella was adopted from ABTCR three years ago and is simply the best dog.
ABTCR is run entirely by volunteers who works tirelessly to find forever homes for coonhounds all over the US. The money I raise will be used to pay for medical care and food for rescued pups - most of which have been pulled from high-kill shelters. Some dogs require expensive surgery or heartworm treatments prior to placement in foster or furever homes. ABTCR Inc. is a non-profit corporation recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
I hope you support my suffering by helping end the suffering of countless dogs all over America.
