EVENT DATE Jun 06, 2016
Please help our family get John Melot to finish his treatment with a functional neurologist. We need to raise enough money (only $2,400 more as of this edit!) to get John to his second and final treatment with specialists in Orlando. Let me give you a little background.
John is a kind, loving, fun 15 year old teenage boy with a heart of gold. Unfortunately, John has struggled with several years of recurring seizure activity that was threatening to take away his ability to even communicate with his family. Many medical professionals have struggled to ease John’s seizure activity, but none were successful until good people at CrowdRise helped us raise enough money for John to see a functional neurologist and specialty therapists at the Plasticity Brain Center in Orlando Florida in January. For the first time, John began to improve and received a week of intensive evaluation, adjustment and therapy that has changed his life. The improvement in John was miraculous, and he has been doing his exercises and following his treatment plan every day since then. He now needs to go back for a final week of treatment and readjustment, where we hope these changes will be made more permanent. We are incredibly close to being able to pay for this additional week — and your contribution is needed to reach this goal and change this promising young man’s life for good.
As his sister, I can only tell you that every dollar is desperately needed and greatly appreciated. Everyone who has given money has given much more than that to John — you have given hope. Before, we could only sit back and watch as each seizure took a little more of John away each day. Now, we see him regaining function and excitement in life. John dreams of living a healthy, independent life as a normal teenager and young adult. Please help us make his dream come true. Every dollar raised will be used to pay for getting John to the treatment center in Orlando and to pay for his treatment. Thank you.
